Flash fiction n°2: "Family"

Marta wrote:

Suffused lights illuminated the room. A large table in the center, surrounded by smiling people, engaged in conversation. On the walls, some paintings which represented a small town of the country.
She gripped her best friend's hand, the hand of the one who had decided to embark with her for that journey, with whom she had faced the difficulties and relished the moments of happiness. A smile formed on her lips. She was happy.

Paths that had crossed in the course of the years. Their friend who was a waiter and who had resigned to work with them, their fellow student with a great passion for crêpes, the cook who had answered their ad, one of their dear friends who worked for the local newspaper and who had written an article about them, and then all the ones who had believed in that idea.
They were all gathered there to celebrate the opening of this small restaurant in a small street of a small town. A small big "family" that had worked together to realize that dream.
The knife plunged in the soft pie. The bottle of wine was uncorked.
Their goal had been achieved.
