    Undecided

Damned bus and damned traffic! He got off grumbling and made his way towards the entrance of the train station. He was obliged to dodge some travelers who were undecided which way to go and tiredly looked for the indication of the platform.
He went to the train. A sudden sunbeam prevented him from seeing clearly before him for an instant, but it was immediately obscured again by a cloud.
He looked through the windows. He recognized her immediately.
He knew she had seen him too, but preferred to ignore it. He got on the next compartment and sat in the first free seat he found. He didn't expect to see her, even if he knew it could happen.
He got rid of that thoughts: they were disturbing and, even though some months had passed, he still felt anger when recalling it.
A long chain of misunderstandings and indecisions had caused them to turn away and clarifying that situation seemed almost impossible. Perhaps pretending it never happened at all was the best solution. Time would take away even that bitterness.
It was with astonishment and some hesitation that he heard that voice making its way through his thoughts.
"Hi…" he turned and a wavering smile formed on his lips: another wavering smile and a waiting gaze had formed, before him, on a known face. He returned her greeting almost unconsciously and his smile lost some of its hesitation.
It was a small gesture, nothing more. They both knew.
A small gesture that was telling them, in its great simplicity, that maybe it was still possible to put things right, to try to understand.
To give each other a second chance.
